Traces

French version

The exhibition “Traces: Urban Art in Serbia and France 1995 – 2022” is the result of the work of curator Ljiljana Radošević mapping the activities of individuals and institutions in Serbia and France related to graffiti culture and urban art, as well as their mutual influences. It is a complex story and the information or adequate material that would document these visual and intellectual exchanges is not always available. On the other hand, these exchanges take unexpected turns.

Graffiti and street art are an unavoidable part of the urban environment. To imagine a city without graffiti would be the same as to imagine a city without cars. Graffiti is everywhere, exposed to views, weather conditions and emotions – and that makes it ephemeral. The goal of this project is to preserve and document Belgrade’s graffiti and street art.
