Unusual animal characters constructed out of worm-like shapes are the signature of the artist Weedzor. At the beginning he was using them for the letters but very quickly he realized that they look better when he used them to create faces.
After the first period when he was using human faces and when his color pallet was relatively toned down, he started creating animals. At the time he started his own brand it was obvious that animals were much more popular on shirts than other things so he was developing his designs both on the streets and on the shirts. The biggest success were animals that are at the same time ugly and cute like a bulldog or a sphinx cat. This particular piece represents a wolf. On the same spot there was one of his earlier works but it got painted over by some local kidds. So, when Weedzor decided to re-paint that wall again he actually made some changes in his style. The colours used for wolf are stronger and clearer and the worm-like shapes are not as straight and precise as they once were. This propelled him into new phase when it comes to wall painting. In 2019, he painted a 17m high mural for the Runaway festival, but he was never willing to give up on stickers as a grassroots way of getting up. Therefore, his approach has been very interesting as he was going ‘bigger’ even when he was going ‘smaller’.
