Just like in the middle ages Rage’s beasts are not really just dogs or foxes in some cases it is hard to pin point exactly the spices and yet one can say with utmost certainty that they belong on Belgrade’s streets. Years earlier he started a project in which the main character was Džeki (Jackie) the dog ‘went’ around the city marking it as if he would in the real life. Pee on each corner on which he thought message would be received. This is one of the most common metaphor of graffiti tagging.

In this piece we see an animal that could be a wolf or a dog but the details of the execution are the ones that give us clues to what Rage wanted to present. Firstly this animal has little wings and blushing cheeks which are normally the characteristics of angels. Secondly, most important elements are the nostrils and the ass hole. Reminding us that this animal lives, breaths and poops therefore it is as real as the other animals we see on the city streets. And thirdly, this animal produces the sound, marked like in comics, but still it has a message. All of this traits bring us to artists main idea within which he operates at this particular time span, and that is – keeping ones inner child alive. By giving his characters the look of a children’s drawings he makes sure that this youthful spirit is animated.

This beast is a very good representative of Rage’s urban Bestiary.
