Quam, has developed a particular style when it comes to characters. He had experimented with characters before but since 2013, his characters have become very recognizable. The creatures he has left us on the streets have become synonymous with him.
When he learned how to draw anatomically correct human body he could finally start experimenting with them. These misshapen humans that often have tentacles or spaghetti-like appendages or enlarged or deformed parts of the body are symbolic representations of transformation. Sketch for this piece was created three years before it was used on the streets and in a way makes interesting bridge to Quams earlier characters and creations that were made just before he entered a new ear and new series. Color blue represents the sadness in this case and spaghetti-like forms sense of being lost in ones thoughts and feelings. By using forms, colours and posture, the artist tries to show how negative, crippling emotions can be transformed into beauty and positivity. There is a magical feeling that seeps out of his characters when one is confronted by them.
